Ana Martinez-Ortiz, is currently a 4th year student at UW-Milwaukee studying Journalism and Spanish. She writes for Media MilwaukeeThe Post, and Odyssey Online. As a journalism student at UWM, Ana has been immersed in the journalism world. Her skills include deadline writing, Adobe Audition, Adobe Photoshop, SEO and online writing. She is a member of the Media Minority Association on campus and Journalism Club.  Recently, she managed Media Milwaukee’s social media pages and helped The Post “take over” UWM’s snap chat. Earlier this semester she worked on Media Milwaukee’s Election Day Live Blog. This past spring semester she studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain at the country’s oldest and most renowned university, La Universidad de Salamanca. While there she improved her Spanish and learned more about Mass Media in Spain. She is also a member of the Spanish Honor Society, Sigma Delta Pi.

She attended Whitefish Bay High School from 2009-2013. During her time in high school she participated in Drama Club as an actress, stage grip, sound assistant, lights manager, and stage manager, where she learned valuable leadership skills. She also worked as Art Editor and Senior Editor and submitted projects for the schools literary magazine, Out of the Blue. In the future, Ana hopes to combine her Spanish, Journalism and love for traveling into her work.
